Option 1: Auto-rickshaws are readily available outside the station; the journey to IIT Palakkad takes about 30–40 minutes. (~INR 350 - 400)
Option 2: Take an auto-rickshaw to Palakkad Stadium Bus Stand, then board a bus towards IIT Palakkad.

Option 1: Board a KSRTC bus (from KSRTC bus stand) towards Coimbatore, get down at Pudussery or Kanjikode, and take an auto-rickshaw to IIT Palakkad. Travel time: 20–25 minutes. (~INR 200)
Option 2: Board a private bus (from Stadium bus stand) towards Kanjikode, get down at Kinar stop (near Kendriya Vidyalaya), and take an auto-rickshaw to IIT Palakkad. Travel time: 25–30 minutes.

The nearest airport to IIT Palakkad is Coimbatore International Airport, Tamil Nadu.
Option 1: Hire a taxi directly from the airport. The drive takes about 1.5–2 hours. (~INR 2000)
Option 2: Take a bus/auto/taxi to Ukkadam Bus Stand (Coimbatore)(~ INR 200-500) → board a KSRTC bus to Palakkad (~INR 60)→ get down at Kanjikode stop → take an auto-rickshaw to IIT Palakkad (~INR 150). Total travel time: 2–2.5 hours. (~INR 400-500)
Option 3: Take a bus/auto/taxi to Coimbatore Railway Station → board a passenger train to Kanjikode Station (only passenger trains stop here)(~INR 120) → take an auto-rickshaw to IIT Palakkad. (~INR 400-900)
Option 4: Take a bus/auto/taxi to Coimbatore Railway Station → board a train to Palakkad Junction (PGT) → hire an auto-rickshaw/taxi to IIT Palakkad or take a bus from the bus stand. (~INR 620-2000)
